Commercial
The new Library of Birmingham was opened to great fanfare in 2013. It is situated by and is connected too the Birmingham Rep Theatre. It was designed by architect Francine Houben. It has been described as both the largest public library in the United Kingdom and the largest regional library in Europe. It cost £188.8 million when constructed and has a floor area of 20,798 sq m.
Community Events
To celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee the parish of Luddington in Warwickshire got approval to create a Quuen's Canopy of seven new trees. The video shows Parish Councillor Stuart Keighley and District Councillor Manuela Perteghella describing how it came about.
Events
This video was taken at the Where Light Falls visual exhibition that took place in the grounds of the old Coventry Cathedral (the one which was bombed in the second war and is open to the elements). The new Basil Spence designed cathedral is connected to it and was consecrated on 25 May 1962.
